Highly Complex
Highly Complex is a subserver - that is, a server within a server - that Rat Piano has.
It is for highly complex trauma-based systems or anyone with experiences and trauma similar to them. That is, it's for survivors of RAMCOA, programming, organized abuse, extreme abuse (however you choose to define it), and anything in-between.
This part of the server is not accessible through opt-in roles for the sake of the privacy and security of the sensitive information in it, and to make sure no one sees these channels without being absolutely sure what they're getting into.
This section is open to those who are reasonably sure they have had these experiences, as well as those who are questioning. However, if you are questioning, you will have to give a very small amount of information as to what experience you had that means you think belong here (even if it's just as simple as "I think I may have been programmed" or "I think I grew up in a cult").
This section contains personal channels separate from the other personal channels, which is part of why this part of the server is designed differently. Please do not give out information you feel would put you in danger, but you can talk freely about your experiences in those trauma as long as you spoiler really heavy venting or anything you feel is really in-depth.
Rules
In addition to the general rules of the server, this subserver has a few extra rules:
1. Don't give out any information that could put you in danger. Normally, trigger phrases are considered dangerous to give out. However, you know your case best.
2. No fakeclaiming other people's trauma. If someone feels they went through programming, organized abuse, or anything of the like, they usually have a good reason for thinking that. If they're genuinely using a word in an unambiguously wrong way, you can politely correct them, but ultimately remember that this section isn't too rigid on purpose.
3. No excessive traumadumping. This ties into other rules of the server, but it bears mentioning here. Some venting and heavy talk is fine and expected, including to a higher extent than in the rest of the server, but I don't want this place to become focused on negativity.
4. The focus here is not on wallowing in your trauma but on learning, coping, surviving, and healing.
Misinformation and conspiracies
While it's widely known that topics like programming and organized abuse have a lot of misinformation surrounding them, it is hard to find any kind of source that is not completely and totally free of misinformation, sensationalization, speculation, and/or conspiratorial thinking.
Additionally, while organized abuse is not itself a conspiracy, sometimes conspiracies CAN be connected to real-life programming cases, e.g. someone learns about programming from conspiracy sites and attempts to replicate it.
I believe that survivor testimonies are ultimately the most reliable sources of information about RAMCOA, but at the same time, not all survivor memories are what they seem, due to abusers planting false memories.
Anything that you know or suspect to be conspiratorial or sensationalized should either not be shared in this section of the server, OR (if it is not especially egregious or has other merits you can explain) should be shared with a disclaimer about its contents. While sources should be scrutinized, I don't think all of them should be totally thrown out for having flaws if those flaws are acknowledged.
Consent and agreement
As per the form filled out to gain access to this part of the server, everyone who participates in this part understands and consents to the following:
* They understand this part of the server is triggering and consent to see the messages sent in it.
* They consent to sharing the information they share in the server and leaving the messages they leave - that is, they consent to have others in this part of the server read any information they choose to share.
* They agree not to share information that would put them in danger, while understanding that risks are unique for every situation.
For anyone who is concerned about privacy, access to this part of the server is normally obtained with a role called "highly complex". However, if you do not want that to appear on your list of roles, you can request that I privately give you channel access.
